The client requested a number fo custom effects to be implemented for both photos and videos. This required us to design a workflow that enabled the ‘implement for one platform, deploy for both’ approach. Development cycle for iOS and Android was greatly reduced.
With the always growing number supported Android devices (more than 10k) we resolved to leveraging a cloud based device farm in additional to in-house testing conducted by a dedicated QA team on an ongoing basis.
One problem that we solved was updating the content of the app (image and video effects) without the user needing to update the entire app from the respective appstore.
Distributing the application traffic across multiple servers ensures very low latency anywhere in the world. Thanks to our DevOps team the app’s uptime is nearly 100%.
